After 15 years of helping buyers close deals across the region, here are five tips I share with every client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Get pre-approved before you start touring homes. A solid pre-approval letter tells sellers you&#8217;re a serious, qualified buyer, and it helps you know your real budget before you fall in love with a property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Understand the neighborhood, not just the house. Commute times, school boundaries, and future development plans can matter as much as square footage. I always encourage clients to visit a neighborhood at different times of day before making an offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Budget for more than the purchase price. Property taxes, HOA dues, insurance, and maintenance add up. A clear picture of total monthly costs helps you make an offer with confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Move quickly, but don&#8217;t skip due diligence. In a fast-moving market, homes can go under contract within days. That said, inspections and disclosure review are still essential; a good agent will help you move fast without cutting corners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Work with a local agent who knows the market. Bay Area real estate is hyper-local.
